Semi-frameless glass balustrades are sophisticated and stylish, but most importantly, a safe and reliable barrier for your home. They offer you an architectural finish with toughened glass infill, which is similar to frameless glass balustrades, at a more cost effective rate.
New regulations introduced in June 2016 mean all frameless glass balustrades must be fitted with an interlinking rail, which applies to the Edge and Viking semi-frameless glass systems. To accommodate the continuous interlinking rail, addtional options have been developed for the Edge and Viking range where the rail can be either top mounted (on the post caps), or front mounted on the balustrade posts.
Top mounted rails also double as handrails and homeowners can choose a style from the range of standard handrails, shown here. There is also an option for Edge balustrade systems with 10mm thick toughened glass, to top mount a specially developed rectangular interlinking rail.
Front mounted rails use a specially designed bracket, fixed to the post face, to secure the handrail 100mm below the top edge of the glass panels. The interlinking rail can be front mounted on both Viking and Edge balustrades, when the glass panels use the 10mm thick toughened glass.
Note: A continuous interlinking rail is not required on Edge and Viking semi-frameless glass pool fencing.
All Juralco semi-frameless glass balustrades come with NZ toughened safety glass and have been extensively engineered and tested to comply with (and exceed) the NZ Building Code, including the recently introduced standard - NZS4223.3.2016.
